Meet the noisiest girl in town – 19 year-old Kingston Art College graphics student Lynn Breeze, of Lovelace Rd, Surbiton. But the noise doesn’t come from her vocal chords, it is the crackle, snap and pop generated by her dress which causes people to stop, look and listen.

For she is wearing a dress designed by art college tutor Paul Wood, and made of the latest space age material – metalised plastics – which she made in 11 minutes flat, using a roll of Sellotape, for just 16s.
